Ice and reach-ins
Ice machines and reach-ins
A bar without ice or a prep line with a warm rail loses the shift, so these calls get the same line and the same response time as a walk-in.
Signs you need us
The machine makes ice slowly, or the ice is small or hollow
Ice doesn't release from the evaporator plate
A prep-table rail or reach-in drifts above its set temperature
Frost builds on the coil or the door gasket
Water on the floor under the machine
The unit short-cycles or the compressor is hot to the touch

At the visit
What happens when we arrive
- 01
Step 1: We check the inputs
Water supply, filter and drain on an ice machine; airflow and door seals on a reach-in.
- 02
Step 2: We find the cause
The condenser, fan, sensor, bin control or compressor, and what the maker's manual says to do.
- 03
Step 3: We quote it in writing
Repair against replacement, with the age of the unit and the cost of each.
- 04
Step 4: We clean what we open
Where the maker calls for it, we clean the parts we touched and leave the unit running.
The quote
What drives the cost
Every quote is in writing before work starts, with the equipment model, what's included and how long the quote holds. These are the things that move it.
The unit
Make, model and age decide whether parts are on the shelf.
Water quality
Scale on an ice machine changes both the repair and how soon it comes back.
The failed part
A sensor, a fan motor and a compressor are three different quotes.
Air-cooled or water-cooled
A water-cooled machine adds a water circuit to check.
Location
Under a bar, in a back hallway or on a roof.
Parts on the truck
A part we carry is a same-visit fix.
Questions about this work
Do you clean ice machines?
We clean the parts we work on, and the plan includes cleaning on the maker's schedule for the ice machine it covers. Ask what your inspector expects.
Is it cheaper to replace a reach-in?
Sometimes. We quote both and say which we'd pick, with the unit's age in front of you.
Do you service display cases?
Yes, including open-front cases. Photos of the nameplate and the case help us bring the right parts.
Can you come during service?
For a prep table or an ice machine, we can often work around the line. We ask before we start.
Ice machine down?
Call the line or text a photo of the nameplate. We will tell you what we think it is before the truck leaves.
